OUR CURRICULUM
Yas American Academy (YAA) offers a comprehensive curriculum designed to develop confident learners who contribute to UAE and global society. Rooted in shared values, our curriculum aligns with the ‘We The UAE 2031’ vision, fostering pioneering, skilled minds prepared for the future. It maintains a balanced approach across all subjects, ensuring depth and cohesion.
Students experience an innovative curriculum based on frameworks such as the Massachusetts State Standards, SHAPE (Physical Education), Next Generation Science Standards (NGSS), Advanced Placement (AP), and the Creative Curriculum for Pre-K. We embed the UN Sustainable Development Goals and the UAE National Identity framework, promoting cross-curricular connections and real-world applications.

Our curriculum pathways emphasize personalization, balance, and breadth, integrating STEM education and Service-Learning to provide practical experiences. Designed to be engaging and challenging, it prepares students for future careers and higher education while contributing to social and economic development.

Structured from Pre-K to Grade 12, our curriculum supports smooth academic progression, emphasizing strong transitions and post-secondary readiness. As a NEASC-accredited school, we uphold rigorous international standards, providing students with globally recognized qualifications.
Students engage in field trips, STEM projects, and performances that enhance learning. We comply with Ministry of Education requirements for UAE SS, Islamic Education, and Arabic while ensuring ample time for Physical Education, Arts, and essential subjects. The instructional matrix meets ADEK’s guidelines, ensuring developmentally appropriate timetabling.
With a strong foundation in literacy, numeracy, and 21st-century skills, our curriculum prepares students for a dynamic world. STEM education starts in elementary school, expanding through middle and high school with hands-on projects and Service-Learning, fostering critical thinking, innovation, and social responsibility.
